🎅 Carlton Rotary Santa Sleigh Routes 2025

Santa is coming back to Carlton, Gedling, and Colwick this December!
Our sleigh — proudly sponsored by Lindleys Autocentres — will be touring the community spreading Christmas cheer and raising funds to meet many local needs throughout the year.

📅 Friday 28th December: Our 1st outing will be to Netherfield Christmas Light Switch on and then travelling to Carlton Hill Christmas Light Switch on.

Here are the routes Santa will be visiting this year:

📅 Friday 12th December – Carlton

Route: Cherrywood Gardens, Forester Road, Morley Road, Norman Road, Standhill Road, Highfield Drive, Mayfield Road, Albert Avenue, Northdale Road, Eastdale Road, Parkdale Road, Milford Drive, Granthorn Drive, Stanway Close

📅 Sunday 14th December – Gedling

Route: Verona Avenue, Hotspur Drive, Furzebrook Road, Vale Road, Lawrence Avenue, Sands Close, First Avenue, Valeside Gardens, Mile End Road, Crosslands Meadow

📅 Tuesday 16th December – Gedling

Route: Gedling Village Care Home, Avon Road, Saltford Close, Jessops Lane, Lorimer Avenue, Jessops Lane, Earl Cres, Willow Lane, Oak Tree Drive, Greens Farm Lane, Yew Tree Lane, Almond Walk

📅 Friday 19th December – Gedling

Route: Coronation Walk, Florence Road, Stoke Lane, Beaumaris Drive, Carisbrooke Avenue, Braemar Drive, Raglan Drive, Conisbrough Avenue, Linden Grove

📅 Sunday 21st December – Gedling

Route: Third Avenue, Beverley Gardens, Priory Road, Tennyson Avenue, Vernon Avenue, Duncroft Avenue, Vernon Avenue, Ranmoor Road, Blackhill Drive

📅 Tuesday 23rd December – Colwick

Route: Rivendell View Care Home, Smew Way, Ruddy Road, Gadwall Road, Coot Way, Magenta Way, Kingfisher Road, Bramling Road, Wisteria Road, Bonington Grange Estate

Well done! Santa has asked me to say a big thank you to all Rotarians and Friends who volunteered in December to keep his sleigh on the road and outside supermarkets. We brought Christmas cheer to young and old. Children were delighted to have photos taken with him and tell him their hopes for Christmas.

346 volunteering hours on the rota, filled by 16 Carlton Rotarians and 21 Friends and supporters! Plus, of course, time spent behind the scenes for those who kept the batteries charged, provided sweets, re-furbished the Sleigh, made the “Pod” for supermarket use, washed the Santa outfits, liaised with the supermarkets, applied for licences, designed posters, organised the banking, the music, kept the rota and Facebook up to date, etc etc. A great team effort.

But most of all, thank you to the kind residents of Carlton, Netherfield and Gedling who donated so generously, given the present economic climate. The fantastic amount of £9,195 was raised and will be used to give out to deserving causes during this coming year.
