We were delighted to welcome Ann Hilton from Medical Detection Dogs to speak to Carlton Rotary about the amazing work this UK charity does.
Medical Detection Dogs trains highly-skilled dogs to detect the odour of human diseases, helping to develop faster, more efficient and less invasive diagnostic methods that could improve outcomes for millions. Their dogs work in research detection (e.g., cancer, Parkinson’s, bacterial infections) as well as Medical Alert Assistance—supporting people with complex health conditions by alerting them to medical events so they can manage their conditions more safely and independently.
All of this life-changing work is made possible without government funding—relying entirely on supporters, fundraising and donations from the public.
